UMBRAL
UMBRAL is a tribute to the Brazilian author Clarice Lispector. She challenged language by distorting the limits of words and their meanings, stretching their imagery power and making their sonority obvious.
As part of the Dis_Tanz solo grant Nicole began a research into the affordances of sound, unfolding various ways of approaching listening and the translation of the experience. This is one of the results, one that led her into thinking listening as a tactile act, experimenting with words and their affective capacity.
